Perched along the waterfront in Gig Harbor, Devoted Kiss Cafe is the kind of breakfast-and-lunch spot where the view could easily be the main attraction—except the food refuses to play second fiddle. The café has built a loyal following around hearty portions, scratch-made cooking and an inviting, casual atmosphere overlooking the harbor.
Breakfast is the star, with favorites such as scratch-made biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, breakfast burritos and the wonderfully indulgent banana bread French toast. Lunch shifts toward substantial sandwiches, including the house-braised Reuben, prime rib dip and DKC cheesesteak. Much of what distinguishes the place is made in-house, including sauces, soups, pastries and roasts, and the café offers considerable flexibility for gluten-free diners.
The setting is equally memorable. Located on the quieter side of Gig Harbor's waterfront, Devoted Kiss pairs breakfast with sweeping harbor views—particularly from its deck. Its popularity was actually becoming a problem: waits could stretch to 90 minutes on busy summer days. In 2026, the owners undertook a major expansion that nearly doubled the café's capacity, and it reopened in June with a larger kitchen, more seating and, thanks to a bigger griddle, scratch-made pancakes finally joining the menu (this is from reading, as it happened after our visit).
The verdict: Devoted Kiss isn't merely a coffee shop with a pretty waterfront address. It's a destination-worthy neighborhood café that combines serious comfort food, generous portions and one of the better breakfast views in the Puget Sound area. Come hungry, try the biscuits and gravy or banana bread French toast, grab a seat overlooking the harbor if you can—and don't plan on needing lunch anytime soon.
