Quixotic Coffee

A mathematician is a device for turning coffee into theorems.
— Alfred Renyi

Located in the Highland Park neighborhood, Quixotic Coffee stands out as a charming, independently owned coffee shop. When you step inside, you’re greeted by conversations and bouts of laughter; the place always seems busy, which fits well with its neighborly aura.

Quixotic delivers high-quality hand-crafted beverages, made with local ingredients and local character. It is the only coffee shop anywhere I’ve been to that serves macchiato (caffè macchiato or espresso macchiato is a shot of espresso topped with frothed milk) the proper way (my way: only one shot of espresso and bubbly water on the side 💙).

I also like Quixotic’s scones because they’re not sugary like so many places I’ve been to. Take note of that, sweet tooth Starbucks goers!
